General characteristics of K-329 Severodvinsk
A ceremony of launching a new nuclear-powered multipurpose attack submarine Severodvinsk (855 Yasen class submarine/ Graney class) took place in the dockyard of the Sevmash defence plant on 15.06.2010. The new submarine is designed to launch a variety of long-range cruise missiles (up to 3,100 miles or 5,000 km) with nuclear warheads, and effectively engage submarines, surface warships and land-based targets.
The Severodvinsk's armament includes 24 cruise missiles, and is also equipped with eight torpedo launchers, as well as mines and anti-ship missiles such as SS-N-16 Stallion.
